Bills vs. Chargers: Josh Allen gets first win in Madden Simulation

Madden seems to like our first rounder.

On Sunday, the Buffalo Bills will play host to the Los Angeles Chargers in their home opener. Both teams are looking to avoid starting off the season 0-2 because that means playoffs are unlikely. We decided we could not wait the hours until kickoff and used EA Sports Madden NFL 19 to simulate tomorrow’s contest.

Buffalo 35, Chargers 27

In a shootout, it was the rookie Josh Allen winning his first career NFL start passing for 349 yards and three touchdowns! Now remember this is just a simulation, last year it had Nathan Peterman doing well against the Chargers and we all know how that ended up. Allen had to be special in this game and he was as LeSean McCoy only rushed for 36 yards on the ground. In the receiving game, it was Charles Clay stepping up with two touchdowns after being a no-show in the Week one contest. We saw third downs be a stat of interest in both the simulation last week and in the actual game as the Bills were just awful in that category. This week they are expected to do better converting on 60 percent of them.
