Buffalo Bills injury update: Shaq Lawson returns to practice, Trent Murphy has minor ankle injury

The Bills were mostly unscathed on Sunday.

Buffalo Bills defensive end Shaq Lawson will return to practice this week, after a hamstring injury had him sidelined for the past two weeks. Speaking at his usual Monday press conference Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott noted that the edge rusher had progressed in his recovery. LeSean McCoy (rib cartilage) is day-to-day in working his way back to the field after missing Sunday’s game.

There was no word on cornerback Phillip Gaines (elbow), who was a limited participant in practice at the end of last week but wasn’t able to play in Sunday’s game.

Regarding injuries from Sunday’s game, the only injury McDermott called out was Trent Murphy, who rolled his ankle and will be day-to-day practicing this week. Center Russell Bodine and cornerback Ryan Lewis, who both left the field for a handful of snaps during the game, didn’t net a mention from McDermott in the injury roundup, which would suggest they should be in good shape for the next game against the Green Bay Packers.
