Buffalo Bills sign offensive lineman Jeremiah Sirles to one-year contract extension

Keeping around a versatile backup.

The Buffalo Bills started the week with only eight unrestricted free agents, and even though Brandon Beane is in Florida for the East-West Shrine Game practices, they’re still making progress on signings. The team announced on Wednesday that they’ve re-signed offensive lineman Jeremiah Sirles to a one-year contract extension for the 2019 season.

Sirles signed with the Bills as a free agent in September when the team traded veteran Marshall Newhouse to the Carolina Panthers. He was active in twelve games this season, and between injuries and lineup experimentation, started five for the team. He took snaps at both tackle and guard for the team, and even served as a backup center on occasion. Heading into the next season, he’ll likely be fighting for a roster spot out of training camp.

The following players are still unsigned as unrestricted free agents for the Buffalo Bills:

  • Jordan Mills
  • Ryan Groy
  • Jordan Phillips
  • Taiwan Jones
  • Deonte Thompson
  • John Miller
