Buffalo Bills injury report: Kevin Johnson, Matt Milano limited, Quinton Spain held out of practice

The Buffalo Bills (5-1) returned to the practice field Wednesday. As the team prepares to host the Philadelphia Eagles (3-4) in a Week 8 showdown Sunday afternoon at New Era Field, the Bills were without the services of starting left guard Quinton Spain.

Spain’s ailing foot injury kept him out of Buffalo’s first practice of the week, joining fullback Patrick DiMarco (ankle) as starters who missed practice on Wednesday. Backup safety Kurt Coleman (hamstring) was also held out of practice.

Linebacker Matt Milano, who missed Buffalo’s 31-21 win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 7, returned to practice as a limited participant Wednesday. Milano is battling a nagging hamstring injury but was a limited practice participant all of last week before sitting out the win over the Dolphins. Backup cornerback Kevin Johnson (neck), wide receiver Duke Williams (shoulder), and linebacker Corey Thompson (ankle) were also limited at practice Wednesday with their injuries.

Williams landed hard on his shoulder after catching a pass on a deep crossing route, while Johnson left the field in the final two minutes of the game with a head injury. He did not return to the game. Thompson is still recovering from early-season ankle surgery. He was limited in practice last week but was held out vs. the Dolphins.
