Poll: What moves do the Buffalo Bills need to make at the trade deadline?

VOICE YOUR OPINION

The Buffalo Bills are 5-2 and in the heart of the AFC playoff race despite two down performances over the last two weeks The NFL trade deadline is this Tuesday, October 29th. Where do you think the Bills need reinforcements?

On offense, they aren’t likely to upgrade at quarterback, center, tight end, or at most spots on the offensive line. On defense, they have a bunch of starting spots already reserved but could use some rotational pieces.

Here is the current state of the Bills at some positions they could target:

Defensive tackle

To me, this is Buffalo’s biggest need since the injury to Harrison Phillips. Giving up a late-round pick for a one-year rental at 1-tech or even a mid-round pick for a guy who could make Star Lotulelei expendable in the offseason would be a wise investment after they’ve been gashed in the running game by multiple teams this year.

Wide receiver

Reports are that Buffalo wants to add a receiver before the deadline. If they do, it would be to fill the second outside receiver role and take some pressure off John Brown, who has been very good this year. With Cole Beasley being a little inconsistent and a rotating group of receivers trying to fill in the gaps, another option could make an impact.

Defensive end

Trent Murphy hasn’t been able to get the job done. Shaq Lawson is likely on his way out. A trade here makes sense with the way Buffalo likes to rotate defensive linemen. If it’s a significant enough upgrade, they may even include Lawson or Murphy in the deal for a longer-term replacement option.

Linebacker

Adding some depth behind Matt Milano wouldn’t be horrible with Corey Thompson already on the shelf. We saw the drop-off when Milano was hurt.

Running back

With Frank Gore getting the most carries and Devin Singletary getting the most snaps, it’s hard to see why the Bills would add anyone here. They have T.J. Yeldon as a reserve and Gore has shown no signs of slowing down. With the investment they made in Singletary, it’s unlikely they will trade for a marquee name, so why not just wait until April’s draft?

Offensive line

Especially if Cody Ford’s injury is serious, the Bills could look to upgrade. If they go with a guard, it would have to be someone better than Jon Feliciano or Quinton Spain to make the deal, and that seems unlikely. More likely is a right tackle, even though the Bills spent big bucks on Ty Nsekhe and a premium pick on Ford this offseason.

Cornerback

Levi Wallace has been a bit shaky over the last couple games. They have former first-round pick Kevin Johnson in reserve. Taron Johnson has been oft-injured. They could use one of those depth options here, too. They could always just re-sign E.J. Gaines, too.

Now it’s your turn. If you had to pick ONE THING for the Bills to address at the trade deadline, where are you pushing in your chips?
