Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets first-half open thread, Week 17

Today’s game kicks off at 1, but it gets real next week

The Buffalo Bills end the season with the opponent they defeated in Week 1, facing off against the New York Jets in a meaningless game in terms of everything but pride. For the Bills, leaving today with full health is the goal, as they have a playoff match-up next week against either the Houston Texans or the Kansas City Chiefs. For the Jets, all that’s on the line is draft position.

Buffalo will rest multiple key starters. John Brown, Cole Beasley, Devin Singletary, and Dawson Knox are all inactive today even though they’re fully healthy. The team’s game day depth chart lists Matt Barkley as the starter. Several key players, including Frank Gore, Lee Smith, Lorenzo Alexander, and Jerry Hughes are all expected to sit unless an emergency arises.

Your first half thread is here, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy this stress-free week while it lasts, for when we next chat, it’ll be an elimination game.
