Buffalo Bills hosting Mississippi State center Elgton Jenkins as a pre-draft visitor

The redshirt senior has value as depth for the interior of the offensive line

NCAA Football: Senior Bowl Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports

The Buffalo Bills will use one of their 30 pre-draft visits on Mississippi State center, Elgton Jenkins, according to Jared Stanger of seamocks.com. Jenkins was a versatile linemen in college before he found his comfort zone at center. He started games at left tackle, right tackle and left guard.

Jenkins was invited to the 2019 Senior Bowl after two straight years of solidifying himself as the starting center. Over the four years he was eligible to play, Jenkins appeared in 49 games. The Bulldogs averaged 223.6 yards per game on the ground behind a line anchored by Jenkins.

Jenkins would be a good value for the Bills in the third or fourth round. He would immediately provide depth to the offensive line and potentially transition into one of the guard spots.

Lance Zierlein of NFL.com said this about Jenkins as a prospect:

“Efficient if unexciting prospect with the size, power and length at center to match with a variety of interior challengers across from him. Jenkins has the core strength to handle down and base blocking duties, but he could leave offensive line coaches wanting more if asked to handle challenging blocks in space. His tape against the best SEC’s best teams over his last two seasons indicates an ability to become an effective, early NFL starter.”
