Buffalo Bills center Mitch Morse out of concussion protocol; will be ready for Week 1

The New York Jets will see Buffalo’s top center.

The Buffalo Bills will have their prized free agent snapping the ball to Josh Allen in Week 1, general manager Brandon Beane announced during the second half of the team’s fourth preseason game Thursday night.

“Mitch [Morse] is out of the protocol. He’s been practicing for a week. He’s cleared that,” Beane said straightforwardly.

Jon Feliciano had been taking first-team reps at center with Spencer Long at right guard. Long has experience at center, as well. It’s unclear if both of them will now head to the bench in favor of rookie Cody Ford, who played well in his action at right guard.

Buffalo traded guard Wyatt Teller on Thursday to clear up some of the logjam on the interior.

Russell Bodine, signed in 2018 to man the center position in the wake of the retirement of Eric Wood, is probably going to be released in the next couple days.
