Tennessee Titans return to practice facility Saturday after no new COVID-positive results

The Titans vs Bills is on track

Matt Warren is Associate Director of NFL coverage for SB Nation and previously covered the Bills for Buffalo Rumblings for more than a decade.

The Tennessee Titans will return to their practice facility today after multiple reporters confirmed there were no new COVID-19 positive results for the team Saturday following the latest round of testing Friday. That’s two consecutive days of negative tests for Tennessee following a whirlwind 11 days that saw a huge spike in positive cases within the organization.

Within the span of two weeks, nearly two dozen members of the team tested positive for the coronavirus as the organization did a terrible job of following the NFL’s COVID-19 protocols. Players and staff in close proximity, practices held away from the facility after the organization was told to shut down and quarantine, and more breaches are sure to draw a major penalty from the NFL and have put the season on the brink of major changes.

Here is the full list of players on the Reserve/COVID-19 list:

  • WR Corey Davis
  • WR Adam Humphries
  • DE Jeffery Simmons
  • CB Kristian Fulton
  • OL Kamalei Correa
  • DL DaQuan Jones
  • LS Beau Brinkley
  • FB Khari Blasingame
  • TE MyCole Pruitt
  • OT Isaiah Wilson
  • CB Greg Mabin (practice squad)
  • CB Breon Borders (practice squad)
  • WR Cameron Batson (practice squad)

As a result, the Buffalo Bills’ game against the Titans was moved from Sunday to Tuesday night, which resulted in the postponement of the Bills’ game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday. That game has yet to be rescheduled but it will be played somewhere “next weekend.” Losing a primetime game between two huge storylines in the NFL this year may not sit well with FOX, but they could bump the game to a potential Monday night window to smooth over the mess.
