The Buffalo Bills (4-0) and Tennessee Titans (3-0) were scheduled to square off Sunday afternoon in Nashville in Week 5, but the Titans are dealing with a rash of positive COVID-19 tests, and the game has been pushed back to Tuesday evening. On the latest episode of the Billieve Podcast, hosts John Boccacino and Jamie D’Amico discuss the ever-evolving COVID-19 outbreak in Tennessee.

As of Saturday morning, 23 people (10 players) have tested positive since Sept. 24 in the Titans organization. Following two straight days with zero new positive test results, the Titans returned to their own facility Saturday morning after being prohibited from using their facility since Sept. 29.

Boccacino and D’Amico discuss the news of the Titans breaking NFL protocol by holding organized team activities away from team facilities, in direct violation of the league’s edict, and whether the Titans should be punished for their actions. They offer up their thoughts on whether the NFL season should temporarily be paused to address the COVID-19 situation and figure out solutions, and whether the players and the teams are doing enough to prevent the spread of the disease.

Our podcasters then delve into whether the game, which is slated to become just the second Tuesday night game in the NFL since 1946, should even be played at all, and how the Bills are coping with both the health and financial ramifications of the outbreak.

The podcast closes with a quick breakdown of the matchup with the Titans, a game that carries huge AFC playoff implications.

  • What can the Bills defense do to slow down running back Derrick Henry, who is averaging 107 yards per game?
  • Can Buffalo’s defense build upon the momentum from the second half of the win over the Las Vegas Raiders?
  • Will cornerback Josh Norman be as effective in his second appearance?
  • How much will linebacker Matt Milano be missed, and who has the tough task of trying to contain talented Tennessee tight end Jonnu Smith?
  • Can anyone slow down quarterback Josh Allen, wide receiver Stefon Diggs and the high-flying offense?
