The Buffalo Bills protected four practice squad players this week ahead of their game against the Kansas City Chiefs. With a Tuesday night game, those players weren’t able to be signed until after the game anyway and wouldn’t have been able to suit up for another team this weekend anyway.
The Bills have protected the same four players this week as they have for the last few weeks, keeping cornerback Dane Jackson, defensive tackle Justin Zimmer, and offensive linemen Jordan Devey and Jonotthan Harrison protected from other teams this week.
Of that foursome, only Zimmer has appeared in a game with the team this season. He played in Week 1 against the New York Jets, notching four tackles, one for a loss, and sixteen total snaps. For comparison, he has the same number of tackles as Harrison Phillips, who has appeared in all five games with two starts.
With regard to Buffalo’s protected practice squad players, it’s the same as it ever was...same as it ever was...for another week, at least.
