In today’s edition of the Buffalo Bills daily links, we start to preview Sunday’s Week 8 showdown between the Bills (5-2) and the New England Patriots (2-4) at Bills Stadium.

While Tom Brady isn’t quarterbacking the Patriots for the first time since the 2000 season, Buffalo still has a chance to make a statement and establish itself as the clear favorites in the AFC East with a dominant performance. Can the Bills bury the wounded Patriots and seize control of the division?

We break down what the Bills’ defensive game plan should be heading into Sunday’s game, as New England is a much different team than it was during Tom Brady’s tenure in Foxboro. We expect Buffalo’s defense to be prepared to stop the power runs inside as well as the read-option runs and draws from New England quarterback Cam Newton.

We assess the news that talented wide receiver Julian Edelman will miss the game on Sunday, and what that means for both an underwhelming Patriots passing game and for Buffalo’s secondary, as Edelman usually enjoys solid games vs. the Bills.

We identify several viable targets for general manager Brandon Beane and the Bills to go after in advance of Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline, discuss what impact guard Jon Feliciano will have in his first game back following a torn pectoral muscle, break down the news that Buffalo has added a former first-round selection, Darron Lee, to shore up the linebackers, and get the latest injury news on guard Cody Ford, wide receiver John Brown, cornerback Josh Norman, and more.
