Las Vegas Raiders player tests positive for COVID-19 following game against Buffalo Bills

That’s two Raiders on the COVID-19 list.

Matt Warren is Associate Director of NFL coverage for SB Nation and previously covered the Bills for Buffalo Rumblings for more than a decade.

The Las Vegas Raiders had a player test positive for the coronavirus on Tuesday, with results returned Wednesday morning. That means they were likely infected prior to the game against the Buffalo Bills this past Sunday.

As of now, the player’s name has not been released.

Yesterday, the Raiders added defensive tackle Maurice Hurst to the team’s Reserve/COVID-19 list but there has not been confirmation he tested positive. Players can be put on the COVID-19 list if they are in close contact with someone who has tested positive even if the player has not himself tested positive.

There are no documented cases of COVID-19 passing from one team to another, The Minnesota Vikings have so far escaped positive tests after playing the Tennessee Titans more than a week ago, and are likely out of the woods.

Elsewhere in the NFL, the New England Patriots have their third case as All-Pro cornerback Stephon Gilmore has tested positive, joining Cam Newton and a practice squad defensive tackle.
