Buffalo Bills cancel practice Friday after their game was moved from Sunday

A mini-bye.

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott is a creature of habit and craves stability for his football team. Obviously 2020 isn’t the year for that kind of consistency.

Following the announcement that the team’s game against the Tennessee Titans, originally scheduled for Sunday afternoon, had been moved to Tuesday night, the Bills have cancelled their Friday practice. It will be a recovery day for their long list of injured players. They have also cancelled their media availability.

In the press announcement, the team did not comment on their schedule moving forward with regards to a practice Saturday or Sunday. Like all of us, they are probably waiting to hear more about what happens with the Titans Friday morning.

On Thursday morning, Titans results from Wednesday’s tests showed that another two players had tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total to 13 players and 10 staff members in the weeks-long saga that includes the Titans violating NFL protocols.

Here is the full list of players on the Reserve/COVID-19 list:

  • WR Corey Davis
  • WR Adam Humphries
  • DE Jeffery Simmons
  • CB Kristian Fulton
  • OL Kamalei Correa
  • DL DaQuan Jones
  • LS Beau Brinkley
  • FB Khari Blasingame
  • TE MyCole Pruitt
  • OT Isaiah Wilson
  • CB Greg Mabin (practice squad)
  • CB Breon Borders (practice squad)
  • WR Cameron Batson (practice squad)

If the Titans receive a positive result on Friday morning, it’s unclear what would happen next. Buffalo would likely face the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night next week and get a bye in Week 5, but what would happen with their game against the Titans is unclear.
