Buffalo Bills center Mitch Morse leaves game with head injury

Matt Warren is Associate Director of NFL coverage for SB Nation and previously covered the Bills for Buffalo Rumblings for more than a decade.

Buffalo Bills center Mitch Morse has left the game against the New England Patriots with a concussion. Ryan Bates was in to replace him on the initial drive, but Jon Feliciano has moved over now that the second drive has begun.

Morse has dealt with frequent concussions in the NFL. This is his fifth documented concussion in the NFL. It’s his second as a member of the Bills, as he suffered a concussion in his first training camp with Buffalo in 2018.

Feliciano is making his first start of the season after injuring his pec during training camp. Ike Boettger stepped into the left guard spot to replace Feliciano. Buffalo is already down Cody Ford, who is hurt with a knee injury this week. They released Quinton Spain a couple weeks ago.

The injury happened on Buffalo’s first offensive drive and they were still able to score a touchdown, running the ball down the throat of New England.
