The Buffalo Bills enter today’s matchup with the Arizona Cardinals in a familiar spot for many of us in 2020. Things are going about as well they can go in the face of odd, unsettling circumstances, as the Bills are 7-2 but dealing with a range of injuries and the effects of the coronavirus.
Last week, Buffalo defeated the Seattle Seahawks, but against Arizona today, they’ll be a bit shorthanded. Linebacker Matt Milano missed the Seattle game thanks to his pectoral injury, and he’ll be out for this one, as well, as he recuperates on injured reserve. Buffalo also had their first positive test for COVID-19 during the regular season, as cornerback Josh Norman contracted the virus. Three close contacts—Dean Marlowe, Tyler Kroft, and Levi Wallace—and Norman are out today as a result.
Buffalo may be down some players, but the team has proven this year to be able to handle those losses. Against an explosive Arizona squad led by second-year quarterback Kyler Murray, Buffalo will need another excellent performance from their own young quarterback, Josh Allen, along with the rest of what has become one of the league’s top offenses.
Will linebacker Tremaine Edmunds build off the best game of his 2020 season? Who will see most of the snaps opposite Tre’Davious White at corner—rookie Dane Jackson or recently-acquired veteran Daryl Worley? Will Zack Moss continue to lead the backfield in touches, or is this the game that Devin Singletary’s motor runs freely?
Your first-half open thread is here, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the game, and go Bills!
