Bills vs Chargers: John Brown will miss third game of season Sunday

Brown has been in and out of the lineup.

Buffalo Bills wide receiver John Brown has been hampered by injuries all year and will miss his third game of the season this Sunday when his team hosts the Los Angeles Chargers. This time, it’s an ankle injury, but calf and other leg ailments have really hampered him this season.

Brown previously missed Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans, Week 7 against the New York Jets, and will now miss Week 12 even after having the bye week to get healthy. While his snap counts remain in the low 70s to mid 80s in percentage of snaps, that’s a clear downward progression from the mid-to-upper 90s from the beginning of the season and 2019.

Rookie fourth-round receiver Gabriel Davis has been the one to step into Brown’s void throughout the season. He’s not as polished as Brown, but has been productive in his playing time. Brown has 29 catches for 386 yards in eight games this season with two touchdowns. Davis, who has three touchdowns, has 19 receptions for 275 yards as the fourth WR.

The full injury report will be released later Friday.
