Fresh off their bye week, the Buffalo Bills will host the Los Angeles Chargers in Orchard Park this weekend. Get up to date on the second L.A. team to come to Western New York this season.

2020 Summary

The Chargers began the season with former Buffalo Bill, Tyrod Taylor, under center, but an unfortunate doctor-induced injury thrust Justin Herbert into the starting role and they have not gone back to Taylor. They now sit at 3-7, but nine out of their ten games have been one-possession games.

Head Coach

Former Bills offensive coordinator and interim head coach, Anthony Lynn has been the head coach of the Chargers since 2017, when the Bills chose Sean McDermott over Lynn and others to replace Rex Ryan. Lynn has a 29-29 (0.500 W-L%) record as an NFL head coach.

Offensive Coordinator

Running the offense for Lynn is his OC Shane Steichen. Steichen got his start in the NFL with the Chargers in 2011, bounced to the Cleveland Browns in 2013, and returned to the Chargers in 2014. He returned as a offensive quality control coach and worked his way up to quarterbacks coach and then interim offensive coordinator when Ken Whisenhunt was let go last October. He received the full-time gig this offseason. His offense is currently ranked third in yards per game and 15th in points per game.

Defensive Coordinator

On the other side of the ball is defensive coordinator Gus Bradley. Bradley has been the DC with the Chargers since 2017, when Lynn took over as head coach. He was previously the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars. His defense is currently ranked 22nd in yards per game and 24th in points per game.
