Buffalo Bills activate LB Tyrel Dodson from injured reserve

The Bills are now at 53 players on their roster

The Buffalo Bills placed linebacker Tyrel Dodson on injured reserve on October 24th. Dodson was dealing with a hamstring injury.

Dodson had been a main sub for Matt Milano. who was dealing with his own injury. It left A.J. Klein as the only option to step in next to Tremaine Edmunds. Klein struggled but has turned it around recently. Now, all of them are back and healthy with Milano activated last week.

It will be interesting to see how the linebackers are used this week against a Pittsburgh Steelers defense known for their short passing game. Edmunds will certainly be used to clog up the pass lanes and Milano will be used in coverage, but Dodson could find himself on the field in coverage situations as well with Klein in on blitz packages.

Dodson played nearly 100 percent of the snaps in Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins and more than 90 percent of the snaps against the Tennessee Titans while Milano was out. He has a sack and 21 tackles to go along with two passes defended in his first year after spending 2019 on the practice squad after being signed as an undrafted free agent.
