The Buffalo Bills are on the road for the team’s first Monday Night Football game of the season against the San Francisco 49ers. Stefon Diggs will have an opportunity to shine on Monday night, against a 49ers defense that has had some struggles against top wide receivers this season.
There have been a few games this season where San Francisco has struggled to contain some of the NFL’s top receivers. In Week 1 it was DeAndre Hopkins who caught 14 passes for 151 yards in a victory for the Arizona Cardinals. Preston Williams hauled in four passes for 106 yards and a touchdown in Week 5, and DK Metcalf exploded with 161 receiving yards and two touchdowns in Week 8. Davante Adams also had a monster game in Week 9, catching ten passes for 173 yards.
Past failures by the 49ers’ defense do not add up to future success for Stefon Diggs, but I like his chances to shine during the primetime matchup on Monday Night Football this week. Start Diggs with confidence, along with quarterback Josh Allen, as the Bills look to improve to 9-3 this season.
