The Buffalo Bills re-signed free-agent safety Dean Marlowe this week. It’s a fairly straightforward depth signing for the player who came to Buffalo from the Carolina Panthers a couple years ago.
We have the contract details thanks to Aaron Wilson at the Houston Chronicle and Marlowe is going to be making slightly more than the veteran minimum. (That would be around $920,000 plus a small signing bonus.)
He gets a $250,000 signing bonus as the only guaranteed money in the deal. This offseason, he can earn a $50,000 workout bonus.
During the season, he will earn $1 million in base salary and up to $250,000 in per-game active bonuses at $15,625 per game. Because he was active for eight games in 2019, only $125,000 of that counts against the cap right now as a Likely To Be Earned incentive.
