This week’s edition of Mocking the Bills takes a bit of a different look at the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, with our readers weighing in on their pick. Things start with a look at the picks that have already been made in the mock so far, to provide some context before we get started.

  1. Cincinnati Bengals - Joe Burrow QB (LSU)
  2. Washington Redskins - Chase Young EDGE (Ohio State)
  3. Detroit Lions - Jeffrey Okudah CB (Ohio State)
  4. New York Giants - Jedrick Wills Jr. OT (Alabama)
  5. Miami Dolphins - Justin Herbert QB (Oregon)
  6. Los Angeles Chargers - Tua Tagovaiola QB (Alabama)
  7. Carolina Panthers - Isaiah Simmons LB (Clemson)
  8. Arizona Cardinals - CeeDee Lamb WR (Oklahoma)
  9. Jacksonville Jaguars - Kristian Fulton CB (LSU)
  10. Cleveland Browns - Mekhi Becton OT (Louisville)
  11. New York Jets - Tristan Wirfs OT (Iowa)
  12. Las Vegas Raiders - Derrick Brown IDL (Auburn)
  13. Indianapolis Colts - Javon Kinlaw IDL (South Carolina)
  14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Andrew Thomas OT (Georgia)
  15. Denver Broncos - Jerry Jeudy WR (Alabama)
  16. Atlanta Falcons - K’Lavon Chaisson EDGE (LSU)
  17. Dallas Cowboys - CJ Henderson CB (Florida)
  18. Miami Dolphins - D’Andre Swift RB (Georgia)
  19. Oakland Raiders - Xavier McKinney S (Alabama)
  20. Jacksonville Jaguars - Grant Delpit S (LSU)
  21. Philadelphia Eagles - Henry Ruggs III WR (Alabama)

Now that the Bills are on the clock, here are the selections for your consideration as part of this week’s mock draft.

A.J. Epenesa EDGE (Iowa)

A disappointing showing at the combine has the talented defensive lineman available at pick 22. Epenesa wins with power and technique as opposed to speed, and could have the flexibility to move inside on obvious passing downs. Yetur Gross-Matos DE (Penn State) is also available, but Epenesa is the top-rated player left on the board.

Jeff Gladney CB (TCU)

Gladney is the top-ranked corner available at this point of the draft, and would bring an upgrade opposite of Tre’Davious White. Fans might prefer the Bills look at a different position in the first round, but an upgrade at corner would immediately impact the defense.

Justin Jefferson WR (LSU)

Jefferson was a high riser at the 2020 combine, and has worked himself into the conversation as a surefire first-round pick. He brings a combination of size and speed, and would be a day one starter for the Bills. Jalen Reagor WR (TCU) and Tee Higgins WR (Clemson) were also available, but for now Jefferson is the top receiver on our board.

Josh Jones OT (Houston)

There are still plenty of questions where the Bills may line up Cody Ford in 2020, which could make offensive tackle an underrated need in the first round. With the run on offensive tackles earlier in the draft, Jones is the best of who is still available at pick 22.

Of course “other” is an option and feel free to share your thoughts below.
