The 2020 NFL schedule will be released at 7:30 p.m. Eastern on Thursday night. Before that, there will certainly be leaks that trickle out across the NFL landscape and we’re here to collect them.
Last year, we had the entire Buffalo Bills schedule hours before the official release.
Here are the teams Buffalo is playing and where the game will take place. This year, in addition to the normal rotation of AFC East games home and away, the Bills will face the AFC West and NFC West. The other two games, determined by 2019 divisional finish, will be the Tennessee Titans and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Home:
- New England Patriots
- New York Jets
- Miami Dolphins
- Kansas City Chiefs
- Los Angeles Chargers
- Los Angeles Rams
- Seattle Seahawks
- Pittsburgh Steelers
Away:
- New England Patriots
- New York Jets
- Miami Dolphins
- Denver Broncos
- Las Vegas Raiders
- San Francisco 49ers
- Arizona Cardinals
- Tennessee Titans
Leaks and rumors
Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the NFL is expected to alter how the schedule is constructed in 2020 in case games near the beginning of the season need to be cancelled.
John Clayton, formerly of ESPN, has now said the NFL is putting the inter-conference games at the start of the schedule because they would be the easiest to cancel. That’s been the scuttlebutt for a while now and this seemingly confirms it. He also said a run through the division would end the season, which makes sense, and that the non-common games would come directly after the inter-conference games. ESPN’s Packers reporter and a prominent Chicago sports radio host have both said the report of the league starting with inter-conference games is untrue.
Sal Capaccio of WGR 550 in Buffalo thinks the Bills will be featured on the schedule in some combination of late afternoon windows and prime time. With the Bills playing the AFC and NFC West, it’s certainly unlikely we’ll see a full slate of 1:00 PM Eastern games, but Capaccio is specifically talking about the nationally featured late window that is televised around the country or to the vast majority of the country.
If it’s marked with a strike through it’s been debunked. We’ll keep it around for now. Just remember to take everything with a grain of salt until the schedules are announced around 7:30 PM Eastern tonight.
If the two teams are in bold, it’s been confirmed by more than one source.
