Let’s not stop the good-news train from rolling. This week saw Levi Wallace raising money for the American Cancer Society by broadcasting a live stream of Fortnite via his Twitch channel. Next week, Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Vernon Butler will participate in a similar event to help raise money for COVID-19 charities.
Scheduled for May 13th, Vernon Butler and a host of current and former players will compete in a one-day Call of Duty tournament. In addition to Vernon Butler, participants are slated to include former Buffalo Bills player Terrell Owens, Ryan Shazier, Mack Wilson, Sheldrick Redwine, Jedrick Wills, Shaq Thompson, James Bradberry, and Deejay Dallas.
The event is being put together by Florida-based Misfits Gaming. Their team, the Florida Mutineers will also join in on the fun to create a total of 12 teams of four. Each participating team will receive a prize to donate money to the COVID-19 charity of their choice. The winning team will receive an extra $5,000 to donate. In all, a total of $25,000 will be donated through the event.
The event will begin at 6:00 pm EDT on Wednesday. For more details you can jump to the event page here.
