Buffalo Bills protect four ahead of AFC Divisional Round game with Baltimore Ravens

Williams isn’t going anywhere while Zack Moss is hurt

Tuesday evening the Buffalo Bills announced their four protected practice squad players who cannot be signed by another team this week:

  • WR Kenny Stills
  • RB Antonio Williams
  • OL Jonotthan Harrison
  • LB Darron Lee

Harrison, Stills, and Lee were all protected last week ahead of the Bills’ Wild Card game as well. Harrison has been protected from being stolen multiple weeks this season and remains an important part of the Bills’ depth should COVID-19 strike the offensive line meeting room. Stills is also a nice insurance policy should the Bills lose talent at WR for any reason during the playoffs. Lee seems to be as much a prospect for next season as depth for the playoffs. His former first-round pedigree keeps his ongoing protection interesting.

Williams is the player who has the most potential to make it on the field this weekend. Many are waiting to see if he makes it to the main roster for Saturday’s game. With Zack Moss’s ankle injury and Williams’s strong showing against Miami, he is perhaps the favorite to get some snaps opposite Devin Singletary. Williams has a power running style that allows the Bills to recoup some of what they lost in Moss and be a complement to Devin Singletary’s shiftiness.
