When the Buffalo Bills battle the Kansas City Chiefs, they will in fact be playing against Patrick Mahomes, the 2018 NFL MVP. The Chiefs quarterback announced to reporters on Friday afternoon that he has been cleared from the NFL’s concussion protocol and he’s good to go this weekend.
Mahomes, who was in the running for this year’s MVP award, led the Chiefs to a 26-17 win over the Bills earlier this season. Though the Bills did their best to neuter Kansas City’s passing game, he still completed 21-of-26 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns.
Mahomes had suffered an injury to the head/neck region in Kansas City’s divisional playoff win over the Cleveland Browns, which saw him leaving the field in a woozy state. He didn’t return to the game, but backup Chad Henne led the Chiefs down the stretch to a win. Mahomes also hurt his toe in that game, and it remains unknown how much that injury will affect him in this game.
