Leslie Frazier, Eric Bieniemy both assembling coaches for Houston Texans head coach job

The winner of today’s game may get more than a trip to the Super Bowl by not going home yet.

Sunday morning, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator/assistant head coach Leslie Frazier and Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy are both assembling staffs to take over as the head coach of the Houston Texans.

Both men have been considered the front-runners over the past week and the outcome of today’s AFC Championship game may determine which coach the Texans hire, as the winner will be unavailable for two more weeks until after Super Bowl LV. If Frazier is hired, it is safe to assume that some Bills assistants would follow him to Houston in addition to losing their coordinator.

The Texans have been dealing with a public snafu with QB Deshaun Watson, and it has been rumored that one way to heal the relationship between the franchise and their QB would be to bring in Bieneiemy, a supposed favorite of Watson’s for the vacancy. Let’s hope the Bills win today and Houston gives Watson the man he wants.
