Buffalo Bills Week 17 inactives: Bills resting some starters

The Bills are without some familiar names this week

The Buffalo Bills had already ruled two players out prior to this week’s game against the Miami Dolphins. With T.J. Yeldon remaining on the COVID-19 list thanks to a positive test before Buffalo’s Week 16 game and Tyler Kroft’s addition to the COVID-19 list prior to this week’s game (for what Kroft’s wife, Lexi, is saying was a false positive), Buffalo called up four players from their practice squad this week.

Which Bills are in and which Bills are out for the season finale? Here’s the list, which has plenty of familiar names on it.

QB Jake Fromm

Even with a playoff spot secured, the Bills won’t activate Fromm, who has officially spent his entire rookie regular season as a healthy scratch.

RB Taiwan Jones

Buffalo’s special teams ace is out today just one week removed from dropping a touchdown pass. Antonio Williams was called up from the practice squad, and he’ll make his NFL debut today.

WR Cole Beasley

Bease was ruled out thanks to a leg injury suffered against the New England Patriots last week. His absence is mitigated by the return of John Brown, who hasn’t played since Buffalo’s loss at the Arizona Cardinals.

TE Reggie Gilliam

The special teams ace will miss another game thanks to knee and quad injuries. With Kroft’s absence, as well, the Bills have called up Nate Becker from the practice squad, who will make his regular-season professional debut today.

T Ty Nsekhe

The veteran swing tackle is a healthy scratch this week. Buffalo’s reserve offensive linemen are Ryan Bates and Brian Winters, as Ike Boettger has overtaken the veteran as the starting left guard.

DE Jerry Hughes

The veteran will have the day off, as Buffalo will instead go with their younger players plus Trent Murphy this week at defensive end.

DE Mario Addison

See above. A.J. Epenesa and Darryl Johnson Jr. figure to see plenty of snaps.

CB Tre’Davious White

The Bills opt to let their top defensive player sit this week. Josh Norman, Levi Wallace, and Dane Jackson will see the majority of the snaps outside.
