The Buffalo Bills are set to host the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday, and this edition of Four Downs has plenty of information for Bills fans. Don’t miss the latest on Dion Dawkins, an AFC rival, the pod of the week, and a prediction for Saturday.
Dion Dawkins and the Bills Mafia
One of the more underrated players on the Bills, in my opinion, is left tackle Dion Dawkins. As one of the early selections during head coach Sean McDermott’s tenure, Dawkins has been a mainstay at left tackle while in Buffalo. When we talk about the culture of the team, and how it leads to success, it’s easy to see that Dawkins plays a major part as a captain this season. If there was ever a doubt in your mind that Dawkins embraces the mindset of Bills Mafia, I would encourage you to read his latest post as part of The Players’ Tribune. From the arrival of Stefon Diggs, to Josh Allen, and everything in between—Dawkins gives a great perspective for fans and the Buffalo Bills community.
What’s up with the Deshaun Watson situation?
I know this is not Bills related, but I’m enthralled with the recent news out of Houston, and the dissatisfaction of quarterback Deshaun Watson. If you have not heard, the hiring of new general manager Nick Caserio has rubbed Watson the wrong way, as ownership had conversations with him about having input in the selection process. It’s certainly worth monitoring, as any trade involving Watson would certainly change the trajectory for his new franchise.
Pod of the Week
Two of my absolute favorites teamed up for a podcast this week, as our own Bruce Nolan joined Pat Moran on the Talking Buffalo Podcast. Pat and Bruce discussed everything about the Bills, and reviewed their “Best of 2020” lists. Their respective shows are always a must listen, and this recent collaboration is something all Bills fans will enjoy.
Prediction: Bills 35, Colts 27
It’s another high-scoring affair for the Bills, as the team jumps out to an early lead in Orchard Park on Saturday. Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs shine once again, and the defense does enough to keep Phillip Rivers and Jonathan Taylor in check.
