Four Downs: Who starts at left guard?

The Buffalo Bills are set to host the Houston Texans on Sunday at Highmark Stadium. This edition has plenty of information to get you ready for the game, including the options at left guard, an interesting note about the Bills’ offense and much more.

Who starts at left guard?

With Jon Feliciano ruled out for Sunday’s game, the question remains who will replace him in the starting lineup on Sunday. While I would have to imagine head coach Sean McDermott will opt for Ike Boettger, he could go with another option. Ryan Bates has the flexibility to play guard, but I think he stays on the bench as the backup center. The team could also activate Jamil Douglas from the practice squad, to provide some much-needed depth on Sunday. As I mentioned earlier, I would expect Boettger to get the start, but we will have to wait until kickoff to find out.

High-Scoring Offense

The Buffalo Bills’ PR department shared some interesting statistics on Friday, that the Bills are the highest-scoring offense in the league since the 2019 playoff loss to the Texans. It is just remarkable to think how far the team’s offense has come under offensive coordinator Brian Daboll since that loss.

I particularly enjoyed this week’s episode, as Joe shared some thoughtful criticism of the offensive and defensive lines. Prediction - Bills 38, Texans 10

This one pretty much follows the expected script, with a dominant performance by the Bills. Stefon Diggs has his first breakout game of the year, going for 10+ catches and 100+ yards. The defensive line provides constant pressure on Davis Mills, as Tre’Davious White and Micah Hyde intercept the rookie quarterback.
