It didn’t take long for the Buffalo Bills to decide whether Dawson Knox would be able to play this weekend against the Miami Dolphins. Head coach Sean McDermott made that clear in the opening minutes of his Wednesday press conference, saying that Knox wouldn’t be playing this weekend. The overall timeline for the tight end isn’t clear, but it’s believed to be only a couple of weeks, and Knox was spotted with only a light wrap on his hand at practice today.
As you’d expect from that coach’s statement, Knox was a non-participant in practice according to the official injury report on Wednesday. Joining him was right tackle Spencer Brown (back). The back injury is new for Brown, who had popped up on the injury list with a knee injury earlier in the season. Back injuries are worth monitoring, especially for offensive linemen (who do plenty of bending and squatting in their work), but with Brown coming off the bye week, hopefully it’s nothing serious.
The only other injury at the start of the week was defensive tackle Justin Zimmer, who was limited with a foot injury. Unless that takes a bad turn in a future practice, Zimmer should be good to go by the weekend.
