Buffalo Bills OL Spencer Brown misses second day of practice with back injury

An injury to watch out for this week.

For the second consecutive day, Buffalo Bills rookie Spencer Brown was sidelined with a back injury, according to the team’s injury report. Brown, who became the team’s starting right tackle three weeks ago, is now on notice to miss the first game of his career. The Bills have one more practice left before the weekend, and unless Brown can participate in that, he’s going to sit out the game. The Bills will likely promote Cody Ford back to the starting lineup if Brown can’t play, and we’d have to see whether Ford returns to RG or if the Bills bring him back as a right tackle in a one-for-one replacement for Brown.

Another Bills rookie wasn’t able to practice Thursday, as Boogie Basham was absent because of an illness. Defensive tackle Justin Zimmer was limited for the second straight day with a foot ailment, but it’s still to early to say if he’ll miss the game or not. And, of course, Dawson Knox (hand) still isn’t practicing. He was already ruled out of this game.
