The Buffalo Bills (2-1) welcome the Houston Texans (1-2) to Orchard Park, NY in a game that on the surface looks like a mismatch. But there may be more to it than meets the eye.
Host Jamie D’Amico looks at the previous week’s victory against the Washington Football Team (WFT) to get some cues as to what might be coming in Week 4. He begins with the highlights, including Josh Allen looking like his former self, dominating the game from the outset. In fact, Allen seemed to eliminate his mechanical issues from the first two games of the season to great success.
Other Positives included:
- Cole Beasley consistently moving the sticks with a season high 11 receptions
- Emmanuel Sanders getting on the same page as Allen for 94 receiving yards
- Tight End Dawson Knox becoming more a more reliable receiver
- Zack Moss looking good in the run game
- The Buffalo defense confused WFT quarterback Taylor Heinike all game long, and forced two interceptions
However, there were some areas of concern that the Bills need to look to remedy against the Texans. They include:
- The Bills pass rush going quiet against WFT
- Cody Ford was abysmal in pass blocking
- Tremaine Edmonds allowed six receptions for 120 yards
D’Amico then provided a scouting report on Texans, particularly rookie Davis Mills, who will be starting in place of injured former Bills QB, Tyrod Taylor and the legally troubled Deshaun Watson.
Furthermore, the host discusses the keys to a Buffalo Bills victory, which includes playing disguised coverages on defense in an attempt to confound Mills, and selling out to stop the Texans running game. On offense, D’Amico wants to see the Bills spread the ball around, jump out to a quick lead, and then run the ball to control the clock.
