One Stat Recap: Buffalo Bills smother the Houston Texans

Bills Mafia > Mills Mafia

NFL: Houston Texans at Buffalo Bills Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

For the second time this season, the Buffalo Bills’ defense pitched a shutout and for the second consecutive week the Buffalo Bills’ offense scored 40 points. The Bills were firing on all cylinders and the Houston Texans, well, it looked like someone put kitty litter in their gas tank.

The Bills’ defense finished the game with four interceptions and allowing just 61 net passing yards. Those stats will tell you that Davis Mills did not have the best day. One more stat will tell you just how terrible, horrible, no good, and very bad his day was; Mills finished the day with a QBR, ESPN’s proprietary QB rating metric, of 0.8. As a reminder, QBR is graded on a scale of 0 to 100. It is the 11th-worst rating in the history of Total QBR, which dates back to 2006. This year the defense is having itself a lot of success.

They’ll look to continue that next week against their toughest test yet, the Kansas City Chiefs.
