After a dominating victory against the Houston Texans, the Buffalo Bills move to the top of power rankings and Super Bowl picks at the conclusion of the first quarter(ish) of the season. But is this real? The team has faced backup quarterbacks and struggled to score points Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
After four weeks of play, the Bills have allowed fewer than 600 yards in the air and fewer than 300 on the ground. They have also shutout two teams; one on the road and one in Orchard Park. They also lead the league in takeaways. Regardless of who is throwing the ball, that is an impressive feat that has Buffalo feeling confident about their chances against the defending AFC Conference champions this Sunday Night as they head to Arrowhead to face the Kansas City Chiefs.
That game will be what most consider as the first true test for a team with championship aspirations. But looking back at the Texans game, there is a lot to be excited about. After the benching of Cody Ford, the offensive line looks to be more cohesive, opening lanes for Devin Singletary and Zack Moss, and allowing more efficient reps. Spencer Brown’s size, agility, and strength is a welcomed sight. He transformed the right side of the line almost immediately. Josh Allen also looks every bit as impressive as he did Week 3 and most of the 2020 season.
