The Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs are a featured matchup on the NFL calendar this year, and will play in prime time this Sunday night. Five weeks into the season, the Chiefs are a little down at 2-2 while the Bills are tied for the lead in the conference at 3-1.
In January, the Chiefs thoroughly beat the Bills in the AFC Championship Game to go to the Super Bowl. Josh Allen continues to chase Patrick Mahomes in terms of production, respect, and accolades. The Bills defense was torched in the run game last regular season and the passing game last postseason. To call this a measuring stick game is a huge understatement.
But there is reason for optimism if you’re the Bills. Your defense seems to be playing out of their minds. Your QB has gotten right the last couple weeks. Your pass rush has been upgraded over the offseason.
Is it enough? Have the Bills grown enough to keep pace with the Chiefs or better yet, overtake them as the lead dog in the AFC? We will find out Sunday night.
