JSpenceTheKing is back to catch up after the Buffalo Bills got back on track with a win over the Miami Dolphins and also chats about the craziness surrounding the trade deadline.
A win is a win. That's what most people will tell you. And while that's true, there are times that the way you win is just as important as the win itself. On Sunday, the Buffalo Bills improved to 5-2 on the year with a 26-11 win over the Miami Dolphins. The score is a bit deceiving at first glance. A two-score win should have every fan ecstatic about their team’s performance, right?
The win allows the Bills to continue their dominance in the AFC East against the Dolphins and also inches them closer to winning the division. But going into the half tied at 3 with possibly the worst team in your division is not how you'd expect a team with Super Bowl aspirations to perform. The first half of football showed rust from the bye week. It also showed that the offensive line is still not playing up to par.
Special teams is also still a concern. While the statistics show Isaiah McKenzie is amongst the league leaders in kick return yardage, we continue to see mental lapses and major mistakes when he has the opportunity to shine. A muffed punt turned touchback could have been ugly for the team. Matt Haack has also been inconsistent punting the ball this season.
Josh Allen and Cole Beasley turned the game around for the offense halfway through the third quarter and the defense continue to perform at an elite level. What does the team have to improve on this week heading into Florida to face the Jacksonville Jaguars?
