Mocking The Bills: You make the call on Buffalo’s pick at 30 (poll)

The readers get to weigh in with their selection

In this edition of Mocking The Bills, our readers get to take over in making the first-round pick for general manager Brandon Beane. The Buffalo Bills have a number of needs that can be addressed in the upcoming NFL Draft, which are noted below.

In the case of this exercise, there are four options that you will be able to choose from. As you will see, each of these options can be considered a reasonable choice with pick 30. Someone like Kyle Pitts is expected to be selected within the first ten picks this April, so I am not listing him as one of the options. Here are your choices for the Bills’ first-round selection:

Zaven Collins LB Tulsa

Collins was my pick in last week’s mock draft, as a day-one starter who could hopefully replace Matt Milano (if needed). Collins has been effective rushing the passer, stopping the run, and in coverage—making him a likely selection late in the first round.

Travis Etienne RB Clemson

A dynamic playmaker who would be viewed as an immediate upgrade at running back in Buffalo. Etienne brings “big play” ability to the offense, as a rusher or pass catcher out of the backfield. The Bills may have bigger needs this offseason, but Etienne is an enticing option for the offense.

Azeez Ojulari EDGE Georgia

The Bills need to add an explosive pass rusher, and Ojulari is the best option available late in the first. A speed rusher off the edge, Ojulari would provide a burst that the Bills currently lack in players like Mario Addison and A.J. Epenesa.

Alijah Vera-Tucker OL USC

Vera-Tucker would be a flexible addition to the offensive line, as he excelled at both tackle and guard while at USC. This position flexibility is a trait that is valued by the Bills with many of the team’s offensive linemen.
