Buffalo Bills free agent Ty Nsekhe has signed with the Dallas Cowboys, per his agency. Nsekhe was Buffalo’s primary backup offensive tackle in 2020, but played only 54 snaps as Dion Dawkins and Daryl Williams stayed healthy.
In 2019, Nsekhe played 49 percent of Buffalo’s snaps as the team’s starting right tackle before an injury sidelined him for a large chunk of the year. Before that, he was splitting reps with second-round newcomer Cody Ford at the position.
With Nsekhe set to turn 36 during the season and likely a depth option at this point in his career, Buffalo didn’t bring him back on a one-year deal. Instead he signed with the Cowboys, who play in his hometown of Arlington, Texas.
Following the departure of Nsekhe, the Bills don’t really have an option behind the newly re-signed Williams at right tackle. Ryan Bates has played some snaps at tackle and the aforementioned Ford could slide out, but he’s being counted on at guard for the time being. Buffalo will need to add an offensive tackle at some point in the next six weeks.
