The Buffalo Bills will have a new punter in 2021 and his name is Matt Haack. If you held out hope that Corey Bojorquez was coming back, the contract details from Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle should put that to rest.
Haack gets $1.05 million in signing bonus money and a guaranteed salary of $1.2 million for a total of $2.25 million in first-year cash. That’s more money than the $2.133 million Restricted Free Agent tender for Bojorquez would have cost and it’s fully guaranteed.
The three years of salary are $1.2 million (fully guaranteed), $1.25 million (fully guarantees at start of 2022 league year), and $1.42 million. There are roster bonuses of $275,000 in the second and third seasons.
Also available to Haack are $600,000 Pro Bowl and net average incentives in Year 1 that rise to $675,000 apiece in 2022 and 2023. The net average he needs to achieve for the incentive is unknown, so we don’t know if it’s LTBE in 2021.
