In the 2020 NFL regular season, Buffalo Bills punter Corey Bojorquez led the league in average yards per punt. In 2021, Bojorquez will take his talents to California. The former Bills punter signed a contract with the Los Angeles Rams on Tuesday.
Bojorquez, 24, entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the New England Patriots following the 2018 NFL Draft. He never punted in a regular-season game for New England, and the Bills claimed him on waivers one day after he was released by their divisional rivals at the end of the 2018 preseason.
In three seasons with Buffalo, Bojorquez punted 165 times at an average of 45 yards per punt. While he was fairly inconsistent throughout the first two years of his career, he seemed to put it all together in 2020, leading the league in gross punt average with a whopping 50.8 yards per punt. Eighteen of Bojorquez’s 41 punts were inside the 20-yard line in 2020, and he kicked seven touchbacks on the year.
The Bills signed former Miami Dolphins punter Matt Haack earlier this offseason to replace Bojorquez.
