While the start of the 2021 NFL season feels like it’s in the distant future, fantasy football drafts will be here before we know it. This series will take an early look at the Buffalo Bills and some fantasy football expectations for this season.

One of the hottest topics for fans of the Buffalo Bills this offseason has been around the tight end position. The potential of Dawson Knox remains at the center of the discussion, along with a potential acquisition of Zach Ertz.

While Knox had a relatively decent finish to the 2020 season, he does not appear in the top 25 consensus rankings from ESPN (to provide context, Ertz comes in at number 25). After a promising rookie season, many expected Knox to take the “next step” during his sophomore season. Injuries and a battle with COVID-19 impacted his production, where he finished with 24 receptions on 44 targets, which included three touchdowns. Fans are well aware that the Bills rely heavily on the corps of wide receivers, but Knox certainly needs to make more out of the targets he does receive.

The 2021 season will be critical for Knox, to see if he can take advantage of the athleticism he brings to the position. Unfortunately he is no more than a bye-week streamer in standard fantasy leagues.
