Four Downs: Penn State? Toronto? Really?

Stadium talk is leading to some interesting storylines

NFL: AFC Divisional Round-Baltimore Ravens at Buffalo Bills Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Toronto? Penn State? Really?

Consider me a fan who was excited about the news of a new stadium being planned for the Buffalo Bills. While I am in favor of a dome being built downtown, a new state-of-the-art stadium is long overdue—even if it sounds like it will be in Orchard Park. The piece of the story that was most perplexing to me, was that the Bills may have to play in Toronto or at Penn State for two seasons, after the team’s lease comes up in 2023.

This idea seems a bit preposterous to me, as the team could just extend the existing lease for two years, while waiting for the new one to be built. Rather than overreact to things right now, I will wait to see what happens in the coming months.

Kudos, Harrison Phillips

Harrison Phillips was able to host his annual football camp with The Playmakers this year, providing a memorable experience for kids with developmental differences. It looked like a memorable experience for all of the participants, and featured special appearances from Jim Kelly and Josh Allen.

Podcast of the Week

My favorite listen this week comes from Bruce Nolan, as he teamed up with Matt Parrino of NewYorkUpstate.com on Thursday. You can find the episode here, as Bruce and Matt went in depth on OTAs, minicamp, how Parrino covers the team, and some expectations heading into training camp. If you did not catch this episode yet, I would consider it a must listen.

ICYMI: Matt Milano

One media session I missed from minicamp was with Matt Milano. The starting linebacker shares his thoughts on the energy on defense, Star Lotulelei, the rookie class, Dane Jackson and much more. Milano specifically noted the play of UDFA cornerback Nick McCloud, who will be one to watch during training camp. You can catch the entire media session here.
