With two offensive linemen on COVID list, Buffalo Bills add two replacements

Earlier this week, the Buffalo Bills placed left tackle Dion Dawkins and guard Ike Boettger on the Reserve/COVID-19 list after testing positive as they arrived to camp. One was vaccinated and one was unvaccinated. As a result, the Bills added two offensive linemen on Thursday.

Marquel Harrell signed with the Bills following the 2020 NFL Draft as an undrafted free agent. He was released as part of the final roster cuts a year ago. While he wasn’t added to the practice squad, the team did bring him back for a tryout in November when Cody Ford went down with his injury. He spent time with the Las Vegas Raiders earlier this offseason.

Also added was Tyler Gauthier. Before he spent this offseason with the Miami Dolphins, he was on the practice squad of the Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars, and New England Patriots, who signed him as a UDFA in 2019. In December of 2019, he spent a couple weeks on the Jags’ active roster but didn’t appear in a game.

Boettger and Dawkins could be out for a couple weeks or longer, depending on their symptoms.
