The Buffalo Bills will have a new face on the sidelines in the preseason, as the team has brought on NFL Network’s Cynthia Frelund to their content team. Frelund will be a sideline reporter for the team during their preseason games, and will host a digital segment for the team that focuses on statistical analysis during the season.
According to Mark Preisler, the executive vice president of Pegula Sports and Entertainment, the goal with Frelund is to move away from a typical sideline reporter’s duties of personal stories and injury updates, into a detailed role that focuses on “next gen stats and trends.”
Frelund, who will join Andrew Catalon and Steve Tasker on the game broadcasts for the preseason, is known as an analytics specialist at the NFL Network. She appears on shows like NFL Fantasy Live and NFL GameDay Morning, and was previously a Predictive Analytics Analyst with ESPN. In an example of her recently published work, Frelund predicted Zack Moss to be the most improved player on the Buffalo Bills this year, noting his production between the tackles and his opportunities to claim a bigger workload.
