It was an interesting week for Bills Mafia. First, quarterback Josh Allen signed a record-breaking contract extension and the Football Hall of Fame inducted both the 2020 and 2021 classes—including all-time greats such as Payton Manning and Calvin Johnson. But coming up on Friday we’ll see the Buffalo Bills on the field for the first time this preseason against the Detroit Lions.
While Jamie D’Amico and Big Chris Newton are both happy to have Allen locked in through 2028, there is disagreement regarding the timing. One of the hosts thinks they should have waited until after the season despite the potential for a higher price tag, and lists the reasons.
When the Bills take the field on Friday night, D’Amico and Newton will be paying close attention to a few players who have been trending in recent training camp reports for both positive and negative reasons. The game will be the first step to showing whether the Bills’ tackle depth has been solidified, if Zack Moss is going to cement his status as RB1, and if the back-ups at CB are up to the challenge of playing big minutes if call upon.
Give a listen and let us know what you think of Allen’s contract and the players you’re most looking forward to seeing on Friday.
