Following up on their 16-15 win against the Detroit Lions, the Buffalo Bills are continuing their preseason tour through the NFC North Saturday afternoon. They’re in Chicago to battle the Bears, their second out of three preseason games this year. Like the first game, the second game will feature a scant amount of starter action from the Bills’ side of things, although Dion Dawkins is expected to play today. This week will also see Mitchell Trubisky return to the city that drafted him into the NFL four years ago, to play against his former team.

The Bears debuted their rookie quarterback Justin Fields last week, who led a turnaround victory over the Miami Dolphins in his first action. Andy Dalton is Chicago’s starter for the moment, but a strong preseason could speed up the timeline for Fields to take the reins.
Meanwhile, the Bills showed off their retooled defensive line last week. Playing their rookies and second stringers, Buffalo dominated the starters on Detroit’s offense. They’re hoping to carry that momentum forward for another week. On the offensive side of the ball, the Bills focused disproportionately on practicing their running game, featuring Devin Singletary and Matt Breida. Maybe this week will offer chances to Jake Kumerow, Marquez Stevenson, and some of the other pass catchers on the roster bubble.
Here’s your open thread for the first half of the game. Let the discussion commence, and go Bills!
