Bills’ QB Josh Allen part of new national ad campaign for Buffalo Wild Wings

Matt Warren is Associate Director of NFL coverage for SB Nation and previously covered the Bills for Buffalo Rumblings for more than a decade.

Guys, everything is gonna be okay. Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen isn’t forsaking good, flavorful wings from Western New York. Despite being outspoken for his love of Bar-Bill wings, Allen is now a national spokesperson for Buffalo Wild Wings, a chain restaurant that serves chicken wings (called “Buffalo wings” in other parts of the country). His first commercial will air this Thursday in prime time during the Ohio State vs Minnesota college football game on FOX.

Allen posted the teaser to his Instagram page on Monday right before his girlfriend, Brittany Williams, ‘grammed a video of herself opening a Bar-Bill box. (Just in case you were concerned.)

There is a 100 percent certainty Allen and his handlers knew there would be a backlash among the fanbase and probably inside the locker room, as well. Frankly, we’re proud of him. Get that bag, boss! Buffalo Wild Wings does not care about one area code being pissed off. They signed a nationally recognizable figure with a strong connection to Buffalo wings and fantasy football players as their spokesperson. It’s a match made in heaven for both sides.
