Cincinnati Bengals claim CB Nick McCloud off waivers from Buffalo Bills, other cuts cleared

Only one player recently cut by the Buffalo Bills was claimed by another team. Cornerback Nick McCloud, an undrafted rookie from Notre Dame, was claimed by the Cincinnati Bengals.

With the first round of waiver claims done, the team can start re-signing players to their practice squad. Recent Bills’ draft picks should lead the way on that list, with wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins, cornerback Rachad Wildgoose, quarterback Jake Fromm, and guard Jack Anderson all available. Cornerback Cam Lewis should be another priority re-signing and the team is light on tight ends, so Nate Becker could be back soon.

General manager Brandon Beane had said the Bills weren’t going to put in any waiver claims, so they were only watching the wire to see if any former Bills wouldn’t be able to be added to the practice squad.

When folks get upset about players potentially be snagged on waivers, this is a good reminder that it doesn’t happen very often.
