Four Downs: The most anticipated Buffalo Bills games of the season

Buffalo Bills vs Pittsburgh Steelers Set Number: X163478

With the Buffalo Bills set to begin the 2021 season, it’s time to take a look at the most anticipated games this year. There are four that really stood out to me, making this a perfect topic for this week’s edition of Four Downs. If you think I missed a game on this list, go ahead and share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Home opener vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers

The no-brainer on my list is the home opener, regardless of the opponent. This year is obviously different for so many fans, as they will be allowed to attend the games at Highmark Stadium. Add in a fantastic opponent with Super Bowl aspirations in the Steelers, and Orchard Park will be rocking on Sunday afternoon.

Week 5 at the Kansas City Chiefs

The rematch of the AFC Championship game is an easy addition to include on this list, with the Bills facing Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. This game is being broadcast nationwide on NBC’s Sunday Night Football, and is one of the most anticipated game on the NFL schedule this year. All eyes will be on this game to see if the Bills have made up ground in their hopes to win the Super Bowl.

Week 13 vs. the New England Patriots

This game makes the list thanks in part to being a home game on Monday Night Football against the top AFC East rival (at least in my opinion). This will also be the Bills’ first match-up against rookie Mac Jones, adding some intrigue to the game. Since it will be Week 13 of the season, there will be a large sample size to determine if the rookie from Alabama looks the part of a starting NFL quarterback.

Week 14 at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Any match-up with the defending Super Bowl champion is sure to make the list—especially with Tom Brady at quarterback. Considering that this game is against an NFC opponent makes it the least important on the schedule related to playoff consideration, but I know all Bills fans will be locked into this game as a chance to finally get a meaningful victory over a Brady-led team.
